About Us

Mike is a professional who has established a reputation for competence and excellence in the single-family mortgage lending industry over the last three decades. His work ethic and keen ability to develop financing strategies have earned Mike a well-deserved base of loyal customers as well as a large number of referral relationships within the real estate community. His no nonsense approach to lending begins with careful scrutiny of the initial loan application. Mike’s ability to understand each borrower’s financial situation in combination with today’s mortgage lending guidelines is second to none and his customer service does not stop there.  Mike is known for quick approvals, constant communication and on time closings. As trite as it may sound, he sincerely enjoys becoming his clients and referral sources “friend in the mortgage business”! 

Mike’s 37 yrs. in the mortgage business has allowed him to understand the business from all sides. In his career he has not only originated loans but processed, underwritten, closed and funded them as well. He contributes his success to a team that has each borrower’s personal situation at heart. He is as comfortable with the first-time homebuyer as well as the seasoned self-employed borrower. He understands the "city" loan as well as the "rural" loan.

Born in Bellville, Texas, Mike attended Blinn College on a football scholarship and obtained a bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Economics and a master’s degrees in Land Economics and Real Estate from Texas A&M University. He began his professional career in commercial banking in 1978. He then affiliated with a residential mortgage lender and managed several branch locations for a major financial group. He then was honored with the opportunity to help create a mortgage company and for 21 years helped grow that company to be a national player in the mortgage lending industry. 

In 2019, he and Austin County State Bank, Bellville, Texas joined together to create  Texas Mortgage Partners, LLC.  

Texas Mortgage Partners sole purpose is to provide a friendly small town, seamless, personalized experience in the mortgage lending process. 

Austin County State Bank was established in 2007 by local business men and women in Bellville, Texas. After ten years of building strong financial and personal relationships with many business owners and individuals in the Bellville and surrounding area, we felt it was time to expand. 

In 2018 we opened our first branch in Sealy, Texas. In addition, we have two Loan Processing Operations (LPOs) in Fort Worth and Cypress, Texas. We are dedicated to serving these communities and are actively involved in local charities and community projects.
